Perusing the internet looking for my next idea to post regarding fashion brought me to this brown skin beauty...We all have heard of Dorothy Dandridge and Lena Horne, but never had I heard the name of;   Dorothea Towles Church!  

 Born on my birthday July 26 in 1922 she was visiting her sister in Paris in 1949 at the age of 27 when she decided to try out for some modeling jobs. Christian Dior hired her on the spot when he seen her! She became the the 1st Black successful model in Europe of the early 1950's, print, runway, and Haute Couture, she did it all!  We Salute You! Happy Birthday!

Hey! Been awhile...Thought I would blog as the season is winding down and show some of the things that I have been obsessing over the past couple of months... Enjoy! Summer is ALMOST over.... But my fascination with #Coral Colors Continues! The Season has been full of HOT & BRIGHT COLORS (reminiscent of the neon in the 80's), but may fave right now is Coral. I have rocked it ALL summer long seems like, and I think... NO I KNOW, I will definitely continue to display my Corals well into the fall! A color that pretty much look great on any skin tone as well as hair color. Such a cheerful color for summer and sultry color for fall if you ask me; Coral should be the new Black!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE! I for one am soooo very HAPPY that 2013 is OVER! Life even though it keeps going, it also sometimes keeps us from doing other things that we would like to do! Each month I kept telling myself, I have to get back into my blogging, and no better time than the present!   Seeing that its been about 6 months since my last post and the LAST week of February, I will kick off 2014 with a Spotlight Salute in honor of Black History month.  In past Salutes I have put the spolight on  Dorothea Towles Chruch and Donyale Luna ) . Happy June! Summer is here!  And oh how I love Social Networking and the internet, because it allows you to be connected to people and information that you would never come across otherwise. Almost a year ago 7/25/12, I posted a Spotlight Salute about a Model by the name of  Dorothea Towles Churc h.  I was pleased to have come across her (good ole' internet) because I had never heard of this African American "Super" model from the 1950's who shared the same birthday as me!
